I’m sorry I won’t be able to make the meeting, but have a couple of suggestions for fundraising. I work at another local school and they run a couple of things which would also work at BOPS.
One is Bun Bake – children are asked to voluntarily bring in buns, biscuits, cookies, flapjacks etc. for a particular day. These are then sold back to children at morning break time at a cost of 20p each over 2 days. The tables are set up in the playground and run by parent volunteers.
Secondly – uniform sale. Parents are asked to donate unwanted second hand school uniform. This is then sold to parents on a given day again from tables in the school playground for a small charge – 50p or a £1 depending on item. Both making money for the school and getting a second life out of old clothes.

Thank you for your ideas,will certainly be putting them to the members at the next meeting ( particularly like the idea of buns). The next BOPSA meeting will be in the new Autumn term, and will include the AGM. The date is 26th September, at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along, we hope to also be able to use the meeting to welcome new parents, whose children will be starting at Burley Oaks in September too.
